this is canoa quebrada. once upon a time it was a quite, slow, naturally gorgeous fishing village. then the french arrived and now its a little hub of fashionistas, models, hairdressers, all part time owners of one of the dozens of BBs dotting the red sandhills of canoa. despite all that bad influence ;), canoa is still a super relaxed and fun place, with a magnificent sea and gorgeous sand dunes all around. to get here is a bit of a trip. its about 2 hours from fortaleza, the capital of ceara. by bus it takes more like 5. the bus actually goes to aracati, and from aracati you can either hire one of the hundreds of buggy drivers or a taxi for the 20 minute drive to canoa quebrada
